Introduction to the encyclopedia
It is a

Dr. William James Durant) (Will Durant (1885-1981) and co-operated by his wife
and they made a superstitious and wonderful effort in it until they completed

Author definition
The author Will Durant was born in
1885 in a city in the state of Massachusetts. He attended Preparatory school in 1903 then he joined University, where he graduated in 1907 and
worked as a teacher in the prime of his life. He obtained a doctorate in
philosophy in 1917. He worked as a lecturer for a period of time, then left and
devoted himself to publishing his encyclopedia, The Story of Civilization.
He began recording and writing this
encyclopedia in 1935 and finished it in 1975 over a period of forty years with
diligent effort, perseverance, and patience. It is enough to know that Dr. Will
Durant traveled around the world from east to west until every letter in the
encyclopedia was documented, as he wanted to live the facts of history in their
place. The truth. One of the funny things is that he had initially decided that
the encyclopedia would consist of five parts, but the effort and research branched
out and expanded until it reached eleven parts. The encyclopedia was not just a
historical narration of events, but rather the author was exploring the depths
of civilizations in an enjoyable philosophical and historical analysis that was
free of monotony. And boredom

Components of the Civilization story Encyclopedia
The encyclopedia
consists of eleven huge, large-sized books that examine and document
the history of all
ancient and modern civilizations. From the beginning of the Stone Age, the era
of hunting, the beginning of the emergence of gatherings, and the beginning of
the formation of the concept of civilization, through the civilization of
Babylon and Assyria, the Sumerian civilization, the Chaldean civilization, and
the Egyptian Pharaonic civilization. And the civilization of Sheba in Yemen,
the Greek and Ptolemaic civilization, the Roman and Phoenician civilizations,
the Persian civilization, the civilization of India, China, Buddha, Confucius,
Christianity, Semitic Judaism, the Arab-Islamic civilization, the history of
the Mongols, the history of Japan and Europe, details of the events of the
French Revolution until the era of Napoleon, and the Arab civilization in
Andalusia until the Inquisition which was established by Isabella and Fernando
against the Muslims of Andalusia and the brutal torture, burning, and killing
that followed to force them to convert from Islam
-----------------------------------------------------------
The encyclopedia contains some bias and is not completely impartial
Of
course, no human action will ever achieve perfection, justice and impartiality.
The encyclopedia was not without some bias against Islamic civilization. For
example, we will find the author's strong bias against Sultan Mahmoud Bin
Sabuktakin AlGhaznawy when the Muslims conquered India. And There are other
examples of bias that space cannot mention, but this does not prevent the
Encyclopedia of the Story of Civilization from remaining one of the most
important history references in the world. It has been translated into many
languages, including Arabic, of course, and the translation was done at the
expense of the Arab League. The translation was carried out by Dr. Zaky
Naguib Mahmoud with a team of specialists.
Conclusion
It
is clear that we will need to write many articles about story of civilization in
order to do justice to this giant encyclopedia, but we pay the attention of
researchers and those interested in history in a brief overview to the extreme
importance of this encyclopedia for them to benefit from this wonderful
historical source
